About
Hey Y’all!
I’ve been a designer for years (years kids, I remember rotary phones) in the print industry. I’ve worked until 2 am at newspapers in Texas, Florida, and New Jersey; art directed photo shoots with models, food, clowns and one zebroid; and I’ve literally worked with the circus on a fashion shoot. I’ve designed weekly, monthly, and quarterly magazines. I’ve worked nights, day, night and day within the same week.
I took my print knowledge and love of white space to the digital design landscape. I’ve worked on varied tablet publications and oversaw a 126-screen project for Popular Mechanics (“101 Gadgets that Changed the World”). At Mental Floss, I designed ‘grams and Insta stories ranging from aurora australis to Weird Al Yankovic. As creative director, I rebranded Mental Floss’s visual identity (including a new logo) while simultaneity redesigning their website. As the Art Director of Ceros Originals I used the content creation platform to create content experiences for the in-house editorial vertical.
I’m obsessed with infographics and love making charts. My co-workers think it’s charming until I make a two-page spread Venn diagram about space movies. Often I wax poetic on how I want to do another chart while making a chart. I’ve also redesigned a few publications, helped launch a magazine in central Florida and worked on sponsored content.
I’m lucky to have had the chance to work on numerous random and awesome projects. Sometimes it’s working with the photo editor at Time Out New York to style 50+ pies for a food story (yes, we tasted every pie). Other times, it's making fake energy drinks for a Sports cover at the Asbury Park Press. For The Good Life at the Jersey Shore, I had two models on a roof deck for a summer swimsuit shoot during the dead of winter. At Mental Floss I art directed and designed a feature with Daniel Radcliffe; it's the closest I’ll ever come to going to Hogwarts.
I’ve had the privilege of working with some of the coolest colleagues at places like Time Out New York, Entertainment Weekly, New York Magazine, Popular Mechanics, Den of Geek and Mental Floss.
Thanks for visiting!
